Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) recruit health professionals to underserved areas. Each center teaches students about healthcare careers, offers clinical training sites for health care profession students and supports health care providers with continuing education programs. Northeast Iowa's AHEC is managed and supported by Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
